One cabinet format, several screen configurations
The EA640F2 is a fixed indoor LED cabinet measuring 640 × 480 mm. It carries six 320 × 160 mm modules in a two-by-three arrangement, with magnetic front access to the modules and documented front access to power supplies and receiving cards. The cabinet is listed at 60 mm deep and 7.5 kg. EagerLED offers seven SMD configurations and three flip-chip COB configurations in this chassis. EA640F2 product specification.
This format is relevant to meeting rooms, retail interiors, lobbies and indoor presentation walls. It allows a buyer to settle the basic cabinet layout while comparing different pitches and module constructions. Keep those choices explicit. A quotation saying only “EA640F2 P1.53” is incomplete because the source lists both a GOB-labeled SMD variant and a COB variant at that pitch.
Start with the available opening and the content that will appear most often. A presentation wall with small spreadsheet cells needs a different review from a retail wall showing large product imagery. The indoor LED screen category helps compare the EA640F2 format with other wall sizes before settling the final grid.
SMD variants and the GOB labels
The manufacturer’s first specification table covers seven SMD variants. Its model names explicitly label P1.25, P1.53, P1.86 and P2 as GOB. The P2.5, P3.076 and P4 model names do not carry that label. Preserve this distinction in the order, the delivered bill of materials and the spare-module record. EA640F2 SMD table.
| SMD variant | Module resolution | Listed brightness | Maximum power | Average power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P1.25 GOB | 256 × 128 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
| P1.53 GOB | 208 × 104 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
| P1.86 GOB | 172 × 86 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 330 W/m² | 110 W/m² |
| P2 GOB | 160 × 80 pixels | 700 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
| P2.5 | 128 × 64 pixels | 800 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
| P3.076 | 104 × 52 pixels | 800 cd/m² | 330 W/m² | 110 W/m² |
| P4 | 80 × 40 pixels | 700 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
All seven share the 320 × 160 mm module size and 640 × 480 mm cabinet format. The common table entries include 14-bit grayscale, refresh frequency of at least 3840 Hz and a 140° viewing angle. These shared values do not erase the brightness and power differences in the rows above. EA640F2 common specifications.
The pixel matrix is especially useful for content planning. Multiplying the module matrix by two across and three up gives the cabinet matrix. Use that arithmetic with the proposed cabinet count, then have the supplier confirm the full screen map. A rounded pitch label alone is a less reliable basis for calculating the final image.
COB has its own electrical table
The second specification table lists flip-chip COB at P1.25, P1.53 and P1.86. These share the same module resolutions as the corresponding SMD entries, but their power values differ. Compare the actual variants rather than applying one family-wide consumption figure. EA640F2 COB table.
| COB variant | Module resolution | Listed brightness | Maximum power | Average power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P1.25 COB | 256 × 128 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 300 W/m² | 100 W/m² |
| P1.53 COB | 208 × 104 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 280 W/m² | 95 W/m² |
| P1.86 COB | 172 × 86 pixels | 600 cd/m² | 230 W/m² | 80 W/m² |
The COB table also lists 14-bit grayscale and refresh frequency of at least 3840 Hz. EA640F2 COB specifications. The source does not provide a measured side-by-side comparison that would justify promising one construction is best for every room. Request samples using the intended brightness, content and viewing distance. Evaluate text, gradients and the appearance of the surface under the room’s lighting.
The COB module family is a related reference for module-level questions. A complete EA640F2 wall still requires its cabinet, power system, control configuration and mounting arrangement. Keep module comparisons tied to the full system being quoted.
Build a widescreen wall from 4:3 cabinets
Each EA640F2 cabinet has a 4:3 physical shape. Four cabinets across and three cabinets up produce a 2560 × 1440 mm wall with a 16:9 shape. This twelve-cabinet arrangement is documented by the manufacturer. The native pixel resolution then changes with the selected pitch. EA640F2 cabinet layout.
For example, P2 uses 160 × 80 pixels per module. A two-by-three module cabinet therefore contains 320 × 240 pixels. Four cabinets across and three up produce a calculated 1280 × 720 pixels across the twelve-cabinet wall. This is a layout calculation from the published data, not a claim that every 16:9 EA640F2 wall has the same resolution. EA640F2 module matrix.
At P1.25, the same twelve-cabinet footprint gives a calculated 2048 × 1152 pixels. EA640F2 module matrix. That distinction matters when the source content is a presentation computer with a fixed output resolution. Agree whether the processor will scale the content or whether a different pitch or wall size is required to meet a native-resolution target.
The twelve cabinets alone weigh a calculated 90 kg using the listed 7.5 kg per cabinet. The installer must also include the support frame, cabling and other equipment. Ask for an elevation and section drawing showing the cabinet sequence, fixing positions and finished projection. A 60 mm cabinet depth is only one part of the installed depth. EA640F2 cabinet dimensions.
Front service in a finished interior
Magnetic modules allow a technician to open the screen from the front using the specified service tool. EagerLED also describes front removal of internal power and receiving components. This suits an installation where a rear maintenance corridor is unavailable, provided the front remains accessible. EA640F2 service details.
A decorative surround should not trap module edges. Fixed furniture can also obstruct the technician’s working position. Review the removal sequence before the joinery is finalized and keep an accessible location for tools and spare modules. Ask the supplier to identify any special procedure for the chosen surface construction.
The cabinet uses an integrated adapter board and quick locks for assembly. The installer still needs a power and signal drawing for the complete wall, including the route into the first cabinet and the location of external control equipment. Retain that drawing with the final screen map and configuration files.
All listed variants use AC 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz and carry an IP31 entry. Select the exact variant’s maximum power for electrical planning. Do not read GOB or COB construction as an outdoor rating for the cabinet. The source identifies the EA640F2 as a fixed indoor product. EA640F2 electrical specifications.
Choose the configuration by the task
| Requirement | Configuration question | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Small presentation text | Which pitch provides enough pixels at the chosen wall size? | Actual screen matrix and a readability demonstration |
| A fixed 16:9 opening | Does the cabinet grid fit the physical opening? | Cabinet elevation and content-scaling plan |
| Surface-construction preference | Is the quoted module SMD/GOB or COB? | Exact model designation and matching spare specification |
| No rear maintenance aisle | Can all required service work occur from the front? | Removal demonstration with proposed trim in place |
| Limited electrical capacity | Which variant and screen area are proposed? | Maximum system load and power-distribution drawing |
If cabinet proportions are the main constraint, compare the EA640H1 and EA250WH3 before locking the wall opening. Compare complete layouts, including visible borders and service space, rather than only the nominal cabinet dimensions.
EA640F2 questions
Is every SMD version GOB?
The table labels the P1.25, P1.53, P1.86 and P2 model names as GOB. It does not apply that label to P2.5, P3.076 or P4. Ask for the exact surface construction in the proposal. EA640F2 SMD table.
Does twelve cabinets mean native 4K?
No. Twelve cabinets in a four-by-three arrangement create a 16:9 physical wall. Native resolution depends on pitch. Confirm the pixel matrix before specifying a content source or processor. EA640F2 cabinet layout.
Can I mix SMD and COB modules in one wall?
The public page lists them as separate configurations and does not establish interchangeability. Specify one approved configuration and obtain matching spares rather than assuming identical dimensions make the modules compatible.
What should I send for a quotation?
Provide the opening dimensions, content example, nearest viewer and mounting plan through the quote request. Include the preferred pitch and module construction, or ask the supplier to compare named options at the same screen size.
Is the whole wall only 60 mm deep?
The source gives 60 mm as the cabinet depth. The support, alignment allowance and cable route determine the final projection. Approve a complete section drawing before preparing the wall recess. EA640F2 cabinet dimensions.
