Church LED wall cost by front-row distance

Pitch should follow the distance from the screen to the front row. A common rule of thumb is that the closest comfortable viewing distance is about 2–3 metres for every millimetre of pitch. The table uses that rule with EagerLED’s standard indoor cabinets.

Church LED video wall cost by sanctuary size

Each wall below is built from 640 × 480 mm cabinets, so sizes step in whole cabinets. The 16:9 walls match the output of most church video switchers without cropping.

The rates are EA640F2 P3.076 at US$588 per m², EA640F2 P2.5 at US$684, EA640H1 P2.5 at US$853 (US$79 per sq ft) and EA640H1 P2 GOB at US$1,011 (US$94 per sq ft). At P2.5, each cabinet has 256 × 192 pixels, so the sanctuary wall is 2048 × 1152 pixels and the large wall 3072 × 1728. At P2, the large wall reaches 3840 × 2160, a native 4K canvas.

EA640H1 or EA640F2 for a sanctuary?

Both use the same 640 × 480 mm cabinet size and six 320 × 160 mm modules, so the pixel grid at a given pitch is identical. The price difference comes from construction.

The EA640H1 is a die-cast aluminium front-service cabinet, 48 mm deep and 6.7 kg, with direct module-to-HUB connections. Its brightness is 800 cd/m² at P2.5 and 700 cd/m² at P2, and the P1.25–P2 versions use GOB modules, which protect the LED surface against knocks. The EA640F2 is 60 mm deep and 7.5 kg, with magnetic front access to modules, power supplies and receiving cards.

Choose EA640H1 when the wall is mounted flush on a sanctuary wall with little depth, or when the screen sits low enough for people, instruments or stage equipment to touch it. Choose EA640F2 when depth is not tight and the budget matters more: in the sanctuary size, P2.5 costs US$2,492 less.

Livestream and camera checks

Most churches now film services, so test the wall on camera before ordering. Bring your own cameras, set your normal frame rate and shutter speed, and film lyrics, dark scenes and a speaker standing in front of the wall. Look for flicker, scan lines and moiré. Indoor walls need far less brightness than their maximum rating. A sanctuary usually runs well below the 700–800 cd/m² listed, so ask for low-brightness colour tests and check that skin tones look natural on camera at the setting you will actually use.

Running cost of a church LED wall

The EA640F2 P2.5 lists 300 W/m² maximum and 100 W/m² average power. For the 14.7456 m² sanctuary wall, that is about 4.4 kW at maximum and about 1.5 kW on average. Used 20 hours a week, the wall consumes roughly 29 kWh per week; multiply by your local tariff. Use the maximum figure when the electrician sizes the circuit.

• wall construction, rigging points and service access;
• available circuits, distribution and cable routes;
• switcher output, cameras, confidence monitors and audio timing;
• operator position, source switching and emergency shutdown;
• trim, finish repair and how the wall looks when it is off.

Front service allows module removal from the viewing side. Keep working space in front of the wall and allow depth for the mounting structure and ventilation.
