Quick answer
LEGIDATECH’s 2026 outdoor guide, dated 11 December 2025, lists USD 280–950 per m² across its P4–P10 table (LEGIDATECH). This is one supplier’s reference, not an EagerLED quote, installed price or market average. Outdoor installed cost cannot be estimated responsibly from panel area alone. Engineering, access, power and weather exposure need site-specific prices.
Outdoor specifications change the budget
An outdoor screen has to remain legible in its actual light and withstand the conditions at its actual mounting point. Specify orientation, direct-sun hours, ambient temperature, rainfall, salt or dust exposure, elevation and operating schedule. Ask the structural engineer for wind-load criteria rather than copying a cabinet’s test rating into the building design.
A named product shows why model-level evidence matters. Samsung’s April 2020 XPR Series data sheet lists the XPR-E P10 at 10.416 mm pitch, 7,000-nit brightness, a -40°C to 55°C operating range and 100/240 V input. It gives that model typical and maximum power values of 270 and 1,000 W/m² (Samsung XPR data sheet). Those are XPR-E P10 specifications, not generic outdoor LED values. Require equivalent data for the exact offered model.
Quote every layer of the project
| Layer | Items to price |
|---|---|
| Display hardware | Cabinets, modules, receiving cards, power supplies, spares |
| Video system | Controller, processor, inputs, monitoring, network hardware |
| Civil and structural | Foundations, steel, façade interface, engineering, permits |
| Electrical | Distribution, protection, disconnects, cabling, grounding |
| Logistics | Export packing, freight, cargo insurance, customs, final delivery |
| Site work | Lift or crane, traffic control, installation, sealing, commissioning |
| Operations | Monitoring, cleaning, callouts, spare replenishment, energy |
Screen-only pricing misses several of the largest variables. A rooftop installation can need lifting and structural reinforcement. A roadside board can need foundations and authority approval. A façade screen can need custom steel and a waterproof interface with the building.
Ask for power figures you can use
Obtain both maximum and stated typical power draw for the exact configuration, plus the test condition behind “typical.” Maximum draw helps size electrical distribution; estimated average draw helps model operating cost. Do not substitute a catalog value from another pitch or brightness class.
For an energy scenario, state every assumption: active area, supplier-declared average W/m², hours per day, operating days and local tariff. Keep it as a scenario until site measurements are available. Include ventilation or cooling loads if the structure requires them.
Freight terms can move cost and risk
Put the chosen Incoterms rule and named place or port on the quotation and purchase order. The ICC publishes eleven Incoterms 2020 rules that allocate specified transport obligations, costs and risks between seller and buyer (ICC). A vague label such as “shipping included” does not identify unloading, customs clearance, duty, inland delivery or cargo insurance.
Inspect crates at arrival and document shock, water or crush damage before signing an unqualified delivery receipt. Agree who files a freight claim and who supplies replacements while the claim is open.
Outdoor quote checklist
- exact product and pitch, cabinet map and visible dimensions;
- brightness target and automatic dimming method;
- ingress-protection rating by cabinet face and test documentation;
- operating temperature, corrosion treatment and cooling method;
- maximum and typical power, distribution drawing and grounding;
- structural design responsibility, wind criteria and access plan;
- monitoring, spare quantity, warranty workflow and response times;
- trade term, named destination, packing, insurance and duty scope.
Can an indoor cabinet be placed under a canopy?
A canopy does not automatically control moisture, condensation, dust, temperature or wind-driven rain. Use equipment and a structure assessed for the real exposure.
Should I buy the brightest screen available?
Specify enough brightness for the location and require automatic dimming. Excess output increases power demand and can create glare at night.
